Poor Man’s VersioN

Poor Man’s Version was formed in July of 2016. Over the years a large number of musicians have sat in with us for a few gigs or a couple of years, but the foundation has always been Wesley Boas and Matt Sprague. Early on, Matt told Wesley that he wasn’t going to play a particularly difficult bass riff note for note and that the band would have to settle for the poor man’s version of it. Immediately we knew we had the perfect name for our project. 

PMV strives to entertain first and foremost. We do not intend to ever play the songs we cover note for note. Instead, we play the songs we want to play in the style we want to play them and you, the audience, get the poor man’s version of it. This isn’t to say that we oversimplify our music. On the contrary, sometimes our covers are more complex than the originals. The PMV philosophy boils down to performing live music covers our way without getting bogged down with trying to recreate what someone else already perfected.
